D. for Durand

Struck by a nervous system illness doubled with aphasia, a man loses the memory of both his origins and past existence. On the spur of a bet, he accepts to see a totally fictitious identity be apportioned him, that of a certain Xavier Durand, born in Nîmes in 1969 of a housemaid and a postman. This situation is quite comfortable for it enables Durand to hold proper identity papers, provided by Maurice Legendre, the director of the estate agency where he was hired as an employee. Alas, this does not suit him: he pursues in his relentless quest for his own identity. At the very moment the age of circa forty years is attributed him, someone surges into his new existence; he attempts at getting the newcomer to play a specific role in the scenario of a life whose plot he invents at will. He is determined to find out who he is.
