A Dead President

John Smith was an important person. He was President of the Australian Senate. He had mistresses in Canberra and was difficult with staff. He was murdered at a party he gave for senators and parliamentary officers. Luke Weir was a new detective-inspector who had just moved from Sydney with his family. He and his team had to investigate the murder.
