All the Silicon on Earth...

In a far future, when Earth suffers an alien attack by a machine civilization, the main character is surprised by an incursion of the alien enemy. While experiencing what he assumes to be his last moments, he makes a crucial discovery that leads him to conclude that his existence and nature are not exactly as he thought.
