Betty Zane

In Betty Zane, Zane Grey recounts his grandmother's story and her adventures and romance during the Revolutionary War. The focus on a resourceful and unforgettable female character is uncommon in the Western genre, and it is exceptionally well executed in this book. Despite the occasional dramatization, the story gives an exciting and historically-based account of the war's last battle.
