The Civil War wasn't only fought at the large battles of Gettysburg, Antietam, or Shiloh. Sometimes the nitty-gritty of the war took place in little known and long forgotten backwater locations. But the people who lived through those turbulent times often became unwitting victims of the violence around them. In 1863 a peace-loving minister in Mississippi became just such a victim.
