A fanatic king rules by fear and force. Children are drafted, and schools close down. Families send their children into hiding. Overtaxed and overworked citizens have fading hopes that change may come. The king looks for a key. A key that he believes will bring him all that he has wanted. The power to know all things and to rule all things. The power to control the future. Two women are on a leisurely hike that quickly turns to adventure. An adventure that brings magic spells and ancient runes. A chant that echoes through time itself. A witch from the past comes forth to reveal her secrets. Can these secrets lead to the key? Does the key really exist? Or is this simply the conspiracy of a delusional king who reaches too far?
