Much Christian worship assumes certain dogma and includes teaching that often seems nonsensical. It frequently involves the recitation of creeds that even regular worshippers find difficult to believe and uncomfortable to affirm. This book seeks to make sense of Christian belief and practice by stripping away the incorrect and irrelevant impediments that hinder meaningful participation in worship. These include beliefs such as the inerrancy of the Bible—whether in relation to God's historical dealings with humanity or the divine demands placed on human belief and behaviour. The book also addresses problems associated with theories of the atonement and the Trinity.
