Embraced by Grace

Embraced by Grace: A Survivor's Journey of Faith, Trauma, and Healing is a personal account of my life's journey, beginning with love at first sight and transitioning from my childhood in Puerto Rico to an abrupt relocation to New York. This memoir explores the trials and tribulations I have faced, including parental abandonment, understanding autism through my brother's diagnosis, among other challenges. I also delve into the postpartum challenges I encountered, revealing how faith became a lifeline during my darkest hours.

The narrative builds to a reflection of my personal experience of the Sandy Hook School tragedy. With my son being a survivor and my husband a first responder, I battled PTSD symptoms. With faith, I overcame trauma and found hope amid adversity.

In the first chapter, I invite readers into my world as a seventeen-year-old. Against the backdrop of pink walls in my childhood bedroom-a symbol of hope and dreams-I grapple with the isolation and insecurity that characterize my high school experience. I also delve into premonitions I encountered through vivid dreams.

In the last chapter, I reflect on my journey and the overwhelming presence of God who has guided me through every challenge. I share how faith sustained me through darkness and despair, reminding me that I am never alone. This closing section emphasizes that true strength lies not in perfection but in the resilience forged through struggle, ultimately leading to a place of peace and healing.

My hope is that through my story, others may find the courage to embrace their own journeys, recognizing that even in despair and the darkest hours, grace, faith, and resilience can illuminate the path ahead.
