Fate Smiled on the Misbegotten

This is the story of a poor Black child born out of wedlock, with few options. Through perseverance, good luck, and occasional help from strangers, what started out as a pretty poor hand later developed into a good life, filled with good times and accomplishments never dreamed of. His story shows what is possible in America despite all the flaws.
