Green Worlds of C. S. Lewis

Decades after C. S. Lewis composed his Chronicles of Narnia, these fantasy tales about a land of enchantment continue to attract readers of all ages. They have also stimulated much commentary and reflection, both within and beyond faith communities throughout the world. The Narnia tales still have much to tell us—not only about fantasy writing and the implications of Christian faith and practice, but also about the ecological vision of life they embody. It’s a vision all the more enlightening in the face of today’s environmental challenges. This book aims to bring that “green” inscape of the stories freshly to light. It invites readers to open the door, through a sequence of word-focused meditations on Lewis’s writing, toward rediscovering their communion with the rest of God’s Creation.
