Diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma at 29, Jamie Kehoe wrote I Used to Write Stories as an act of refusal  – against the bravery arc, against borrowed wisdom, against the expected shape of illness poetry. Spoken word in spirit, darkly comic in execution, these poems insist on the texture of being alive. Funny, specific, Mancunian, and occasionally devastating.
