Olivia Maurel, born to a surrogate mother in Kentucky, USA was ' made to order' for a wealthy French couple. She did not know about the circumstances of her birth until she was 30 years old. Now 35, married and a mother of three children, Olivia Maurel has become a fierce abolitionist and is the spokeswoman for The Declaration of Casablanca. In 2024, she met with Pope Francis and welcomed his support for a global ban on surrogacy. She continues to advocate for a ban and speaks eloquently on the trauma caused by surrogacy.
