Tuttle's Inside Information is a raucous Western farce set in Piperock, a rough frontier town where nicknames, pride, and bad judgment matter almost as much as gunplay. Told in a fast-talking, deadpan voice, it follows a cast of memorable oddballs—Mighty Jones, Dirty Shirt Jones, Jewelry Jones, Amos Carter, Magpie Simpkins, and others—whose lives are thrown into chaos by a single mysterious letter. What begins as a petty dispute over mail quickly becomes a comic feud of insults, threats, night watch duty, mistaken identities, and escalating suspicion, with the narrator Ike caught in the middle as he guards the post office and watches the Joneses stalk the dark office, convinced the prize is theirs. As the confusion spreads to the bank, the store, and the town at large, the story satirizes masculinity, greed, property, and small-town justice, turning frontier lawlessness into slapstick.
