My father always used to say, "What you fear will one day appear before you." I think that's what's happening to me now. I've always been afraid of the dark, especially of staying alone in the house overnight. How strange, I'm not afraid of animals or walking in the forest, yet I'm terrified of being alone in the cottage. The novel follows Jouri, a girl who confronts her fear of solitude in her cottage, faces forest animals that spark conflicts and unexpected events, and journeys through forests, plains, and villages in a quest of self‑discovery and learning to overcome fears.
