Love Song with Dying Fish

In her fourth poetry collection, Marci Rae Johnson explores the human desire to connect to God and to others through contexts such as travel, science, art, language, social media, and the COVID-19 pandemic. As the narrator struggles to create and maintain these connections through encounters with loss and other emotional struggles, isolation, and the confines of individual perspective, ancient texts such as Dogen's Rules for Zazen and the Bible collide with contemporary things such as My Little Pony, Facebook, cell phones, quantum physics, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
