Love's Snare

"Wake up. You're dreaming again." I wake to Mira shaking my arm as we lay in the straw-filled bed. We are taking shelter at the mercy of an innkeeper.

Looking up at the wooden beams and straw-thatched roof, I couldn't help but feel the loss and despair of that horrific day raining down on me like a thousand arrows. Each one stings with the pain of the intruder's silver bite.
