Robert Wenning's study offers a systematic overview and detailed discussion of Iron Age graves in Judah and Jerusalem: a documentation of the local burial culture based on an archaeological investigation of the topography, architecture and typology of the graves, the grave inventories, the burial customs, the care of the dead and the grave traditions in ancient literature, especially in the Old Testament. A second part broadens the perspective to the remaining regions of Israel / Palestine.
