Me and the Mirror: A Daughter's Journey is a compelling story I crafted about Bay's life and how she navigated in society without the influence of her biological father. In this book, I alluded to the emotional scarring that I endured due to the absence of my dad's love and the fact that I only met him once in my lifetime. Dad's absence never derailed me from obtaining significant goals I set for myself, but it dawned on me later in life that his absence was directly linked to my emotional pattern when it came to sustaining a healthy male-female partnership. The book covers how I gleaned, at an early age, from my grandmother the tools to become self-sufficient. In this book, I also share with you the power of love from my caregivers, which helped shape my humanitarianism and provided me with a solid moral compass. You see, during my era, African American families understood the importance of close-knit family network and extended family living.

With that being said, Between Me and the Mirror: A Daughter's Journey is a compelling story of how a little girl named Bay from Mississippi, overcame many personal obstacles and is now living her best life and golden years as a government retiree and a self-taught artist. The "epiphany" of my storyline is how I used determination and self-worth as a flashlight during my life journey.
