a confection
Jonathan Norton is a rising star in the Dallas area, but his description of a Black neighborhood in the '80s will appeal to so many, especially after the resurgence of #BLM protests in the summer of 2020. He navigates the drug epidemic and rising violence through an accessible point of view of a kid, and his story is fairly autobiographical. Would make a great addition to any syllabus or reading list of 21st century drama dealing with race, childhood, the South, family drama.
