Remarks on Time

In Remarks on Time, Davina Allison converses with the great philosopher Bernard Lonergan SJ (1904–1984), who, in an age subordinate to degraded and degrading ideas, asked serious questions about the drive to knowledge. Here, in intense, vivid poems, the lovers’ bedroom and garden, silk, birds, oranges, violets, and rain are conjured, offering a contemplative vision of desire, love, and the world apprehended in time, and outside of it.
