In a decaying Baltimore, one woman dares to fight back. Waylee Freid, an unemployed journalist and musician battling bipolar disorder, joins forces with countercultural friends to challenge a corrupt system. Frustrated by social injustice and the allure of virtual reality, they hatch a plan: bust a teenage hacker from jail and expose a power-mad CEO and president at a closed election fundraiser.
