Aging and homesick, Nur Ali, exiled from Pakistan, struggles to lead his family from half a world away. Though inaccurately labeled as a Taliban sympathizer, he's determined to keep his position as family patriarch, managing food, gifts, marriages, births, and deaths using prepaid phone cards and a landline in the inner-city 7-Eleven where he works.
