The Age of Reason

Thomas Paine was perhaps the most interesting thinker amongst the founding fathers. In the Age of Reason, he turns his attention to the role of religion in society. Paine is unflinching in his advocation of Deism and reason in human affairs. Though not an atheist, Paine is a powerful advocate for secular government and an underrated influence on American politics.
