The Color Line

The Color Line was a commonly used phrase in the 19th Century referring to the stark division between black and white citizens of the United States. In one of his best works, Frederik Douglass laments its continued influence and analyzes why post-emancipation integration was failing. Unformatitely, this work remains highly relevant.
