Veterinarian Cass Truman has just landed her first job, in England's Lake District, and she's already eager to specialize in caring for horses. Horse breeder Jake Munro could help her achieve this dream; for one thing, he could teach her to ride. Instead, he acts as if he can't stand her. At first, Cass is happy to return the sentimentuntil she learns Jake has suffered a terrible loss. Cass finds herself drawn to the grieving man, and the two bond over their shared affinity for horses. But while Cass can relieve an animal's suffering, she's not sure she can ease Jake's.
