The Different Hats

The Different Hats tells a story in three chapters of a young foreign female soldier’s life in America. The book gives references to words absorbed as a foreigner in the United States, a soldier in the US army, and a student in college learning about who she is and becoming of. The first chapter gives you a glance of a newly enlisted soldier adapting to the language and ways of her drill sergeants. The second chapter provides a poetry-formatted knowledge of a young woman finding her way through friendships, love, and life experiences. The final chapter shares words of endearment and revelation of the new world through the eyes of a young foreigner.
