We are partnering with the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies and the University of Texas at Dallas for publication.
Ralph Waldo Emerson, in his essay collection Representative Men named Goethe one of history’s “six great men” alongside Plato and Shakespeare.
The New Yorker published an in-depth profile on Goethe's life and work, and translations of his previous works have been featured or reviewed widely in outlets including The Guardian, The Washington Post, New York Times, The Economist, Publishers Weekly, and more.
The translators have written in-depth introductions to the text.
Deep Vellum's promotion will include a robust programming component in partnership with the University, as well as with the Goethe Institute and other German cultural organizations.
Galleys and e-galleys via Edelweiss will be available 4-6 months in advance of publication.
