The Price of Freedom

A novel that tells the story of the end of the slavery of the Roma people in Romania, after five centuries of slavery. In 1855 Mateo Maximoff's family lived in slavery, like almost all the gypsy people. The author narrates the struggle for freedom that a group of men and women experience, when they decide to join the "outlaws", gypsies who already live in freedom. There will be battles, chases, collaboration, and surprising twists in the story, right down to the last page.
