Lifelong friendships are to be cherished. This is the story of one such friendship, between Jimmy Kessler, Kinky Friedman and Bill Scholl. For Bill, landing at Echo Hill Ranch, a summer camp in the Texas Hill Country, at the age of 13 was quite the revelation! It was a far cry from the Cajun Catholic culture of South Louisiana that he knew so well. He easily blended with the Texas Jewish teenage world, and his two new friends welcomed him with open arms! Jimmy became a beloved Rabbi, Kinky a country music star, author, and erstwhile governor, Bill a schoolteacher-farmer-businessman-therapist and budding author. Each danced their way past the 1950’s expectations for young Jewish boys. This is the story of friendship and support, of ups and downs, as they lived their dreams.
