Much has been written about the Mexican experience in the United States of America, and there is a need now to define Mexican as the designation is now in a category with many other names: Chicano, Latino, Hispanic, and Mexican American. Since I grew up in the barrio (settlement) of South El Paso, I probably fit into all of these categories, a discussion topic included in this book. Several serious topics are discussed, but overall, this book is a celebration of the arrival in the United States of the Mexican and how we have influenced the American lifestyle.
