Travels in Alaska

In the 19th Century, Alaska was genuinely wild and unexploited. Naturalist and gifted writer John Muir traveled there and described flora and fauna of this future US state. The book is particularly well-known for its loving descriptions of glaciers. Sadly, many of the glaciers described and photographed here are now gone.
